Araminta and Wanda’s Quest by Teodora Leon

One day, Araminta and Wanda, two good friends, were playing outside. They were pretending that they are ghosts. Wanda moved in Araminta’s house some months ago. At first, Araminta thought that Wanda is a stupid little girl, but when Wanda showed Araminta some amazing tricks, Araminta wasn’t so sure. Aunt Tabby and Wanda’s mother, Brenda Mag, were cooking lunch and Uncle Drak and Wanda’s father, Barry Mag, were trying to catch Big Bat. Big Bat was the biggest bat in Araminta’s house. Araminta liked it, but the trouble was that Big Bat was old and grumpy and sometimes it was very bad with the other bats.
Araminta got bored and she said: “Come on, Wanda, let’s go inside and see Edmund and Sir Horace.” Sir Horace was an armour and Edmund was a ghost. Edmund was Sir Horace’s servant. They were Araminta and Wanda’s friends. The girls entered in the house and went upstairs. Araminta and Wanda found only Edmund there. “Hi, Edmund, where is Sir Horace?” Wanda asked. “I don’t know. Last night, he went to bed with me and this morning, I woke up and his bed was empty!” Edmund said. “But how did this happen?” Araminta asked herself. “Oh, I almost forgot! I must show you something!” Edmund said. Araminta and Wanda followed Edmund. Soon, they arrived in Edmund and Sir Horace’s bedroom. Up, on the ceiling, it was a HUGE hole! “OH MY GOSH! Who did this?” Wanda asked, shocked. “Someone must have kidnapped Sir Horace...” Edmund said. “Someone big!” Araminta added. “Yep. You have to save Sir Horace!” Edmund said. “Yes, he is our friend. But we don’t even know where he is!” Wanda said. “Hey, here’s a note. It says: “Dear reader, I’m a good fairy. I know where your friend is. It is kidnapped by Rex, the bad dinosaur. If you want to save your friend, you have to get rid of Rex. Next to the note there is a map. It will help you to find the kidnapped friend. You have to go to all the seven islands to collect the seven keys. Those keys are going to help you. Good luck! Best wishes, Loretta, The Princess of The Honey Island”. Interesting!” Araminta said. “Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go and find Sir Horace!” Wanda said. “Good luck!” Edmund said. Araminta and Wanda made their backpacks. When they finished, they went downstairs. Aunt Tabby was waiting for the girls. “Lunch’s ready! Where are you going?” Aunt Tabby asked. Araminta explained what happened to Sir Horace. “You still care about that old and dusty armour?” Aunt Tabby asked. “Yes, he’s my friend and Wanda’s, too!” Araminta said. “Are you sure you’re going to be okay?” Aunt Tabby asked. “Yes, Aunt Tabby, don’t worry about us!” Araminta said, rolling her eyes. “Okay, be careful! Bye!” Aunt Tabby said. Araminta and Wanda were about to have an amazing quest...
They arrived at the big sea, not so far from Araminta’s house. “How we are going to cross the sea and to get to the seven islands?” Wanda asked. Next to them, there were some sticks. “Hey, let’s build a boat with these sticks.” Araminta said. “Good idea!” Wanda said. Araminta and Wanda started to build a boat with the sticks. Soon, it was ready. “Okay, let’s make some rows now.” Araminta said. After five minutes everything was ready. Araminta and Wanda started to row. They landed on the first island. Everything was red. Even the trees, the grass and the leaves! On a big leaf, there was a princess. She was wearing a long, red dress and on the top of her head there was a red crown with sparkling stars. She gave Araminta a red key. “Go and collect the other keys. They will help you a lot!” the princess said. Araminta and Wanda got the keys with success. The last ones were orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, just like the colors of the rainbow. The last princess said to the girls: “Go to the next island and you’re going to find a sword. The sword will help you to kill the dinosaur!” The last island was very small. It was just a cave. Araminta and Wanda entered in the cave. At the bottom of the cave there was a red door. “Let’s open it with the red key!” Wanda said. Araminta opened it and it was another door. It was orange. Araminta continued to open the doors until she got to the last door, a violet one. She opened the door and inside it was a big, sharp sword. Next to it there was a note. It was saying: “Rex, the dinosaur, is on the next island. Hurry, you must save your friend before it’s too late!” Wanda was exhausted. “Don’t worry, we’re going to finish this quest soon. We just have to fight with Rex and then, Sir Horace will be safe!” Araminta said. Soon they arrived on the island where Rex was. Rex was standing next to a cage and inside the cage was Sir Horace. “Hey, Rexy, we are not afraid of you!” Wanda said and got out her tongue. Rex got angry and ran to Araminta and Wanda. “Hurry, Araminta! He is coming to us!” Wanda said. Araminta threw the sword and it got in Rex’s neck. Blood came out and Rex cried because of the pain. Rex fell on the ground and disappeared. The cage disappeared, too. “Oh, thank you, Miss Spookie and Miss Mag!” Sir Horace said and bowed. His head fell and Araminta caught it. Araminta, Wanda and Sir Horace were back at their house. Aunt Tabby and the rest of the family were happy to see that the girls were safe. Edmund was happy, too! “Are you all right, Araminta and Wanda? And Sir Horace, too?” he asked. “Yes, we are!” Araminta said.
Everybody was safe and happy, especially Araminta! The End
