Welcome to... the brilliant world of Tom Gates! :D
Are you ready to find out interesting things about his 100% funny diary? If so, let’s begin! But if you’re Tom’s grumpy sister, Delia, or Marcus Meldrew (an idiot),
or Mrs. Worthington (who has a... moustache!!! AARRGGHH!!!), you’re not allowed to read the book (or even this book review!)!
I don’t know what others think, but I know that Tom Gate's story is the BEST ever! It’s mega-awesome, cool and funny! Tom Gates is an ordinary boy who happens to be a fan of drawing, caramel wafers and the band Dude3! His best friend is a boy called Derek (he is also his neighbor!). Every morning they go together to school. Tom’s enemy is an idiot (like I said in the beginning) called Marcus Meldrew. Tom likes Amy, a very smart girl. Tom tries to impress Amy with a lot of “cool” things, like he says...
I think you have already guessed: my favorite character is Tom! He really has a talent to amuse his friends. And not just his friends, but also... the readers!
My favorite part was when Tom met Mrs. Worthington. When he saw her moustache, Tom was shocked! It was hard not to stare with beady eyes at Mrs. Worthington’s face! :O
I also like that Tom’s family is very unusual... Mom and Dad are officially the most embarrassing parents ever!
The grandparents are called “The Fossils” (because they are very old). Grandma is VERY strange! She cooks the most unusual meals ever! She once gave Tom in a packed lunch... pizza with something disgusting on it! Check out this paragraph: “On the pizza there’s cheese (OK), tomatoes (OK), olives (UGH). And something else that I personally don’t think should EVER in a million years be seen on a pizza... ever... (What was Granny thinking?) A BANANA! There’s a banana on my pizza!” Let’s not forget about Delia... Want to know something quite interesting about her? She has the same (gloomy!) face when she is happy, sad or angry...
Cool, right? :| :/
I didn’t like the part when Tom lost his Dude3 concert tickets because of Rooster, Derek’s dog (yes, it’s a dog... not a chicken!). Luckily, everything turned out just fine! With the help of... Mr. Fullerman, Tom’s form teacher!!! Can you believe such a thing? And to think that Mr. Fullerman has a problem with the beady eyes...
If you’re looking for something funny to read, then this book is just perfect for you! :) I give it more than five stars, that’s for sure!!! ;)
Now, after this book review, let’s see how to draw Delia...
And don’t forget to read the tips on how to look wide awake while taking a sneaky snooze... :D
I have a tip, too: listen to the song “Wide Awake” by Katy Perry! LOL! :))
