(Editura Rao, Bucureşti, 2013) La Şcoala Directorului Dreadthorn pentru Ticăloşi Rebeli, trei prieteni foarte buni, Rune Drexler, Contesa Jezebel Dracula şi Lup Junior, învaţă cum să fie răi. Rune este un vârcolac care primeşte de multe ori detenţii. Jez este un vampir cu o pasiune pentru ciocolata caldă. Lup Junior nu seamănă deloc cu tatăl său (de exemplu, el ar salva-o pe Scufiţa Roşie dacă s-ar întâlni cu ea). Directorul Dreadthorn (numit şi Directorul Teroare de către elevii săi) este tatăl lui Rune. Numele lui complet e Veldin Drexler. Directorul îi dă fiului său un Complot pentru a trece la următorul nivel: „La Şcoala Directorului Dreadthorn pentru Ticăloşi Rebeli nu avansam pe clase (precum grădiniţă, clasa întâi, a doua). În schimb, aveam niveluri de îndeplinit numite Ranguri Educaţionale Afurisite (REA). Primul nivel era Pungaş. Al doilea, Tâlhar. (Editura Rao, Bucureşti, 2012) Îi cunoaşteţi pe elevii Şcolii fricoşilor: Hyacinth, Lulu, Madeleine, Garrison şi Theodore? Dacă nu îi ştiţi încă, trebuie să aflaţi câteva lucruri despre ei... Lui Hyhy nu-i place să stea singură (are un dihor pe nume Ţelină, dar nu-i este îndeajuns). Abia în al doilea volum, Hyhy soseşte la Şcoala fricoşilor. Nici nu intră bine în clădire şi deja îi consideră pe toţi din jurul ei „superprieteni”: „Toţi prietenii mei îmi spun Hyhy şi vă consider deja prieteni, chiar dacă nu ne-am cunoscut oficial.”, „Vă pot lua pe dumneavoastră de mână? Îmi place să ţin pe cineva de mână. Simt o legătură foarte puternică astfel.” (Gitty Daneshvari – Şcoala fricoşilor – Lecţia nu s-a terminat ; Editura Rao, Bucureşti, 2012, pag. 61) Lulu nu suportă să stea în spaţii închise: „- Urăsc subsolurile... nu au ferestre... foarte rău, mormăi Lulu neliniştită, mai mult pentru ea.” (pag. 17) Madeleine detestă insectele! (Editura Arthur, Bucureşti, 2013) „Nu judeca o carte după copertă.”. Probabil vă întrebaţi: acesta este motto-ul cărţii? Da, acesta e, dar are nevoie de un mic adaos: „Nu judeca o carte un om după copertă chip.”. Protagonistul cărţii „Minunea” este August Pullman, un băiat de zece ani. Din nefericire, acesta s-a născut cu o diformitate facială îngrozitoare: „Nu vă voi descrie cum arăt. Indiferent ce grozăvie v-aţi imagina, probabil că este mai rău.”. Acest lucru ne este spus chiar de personajul principal, August. Însă sora lui mai mare, Via, dezvăluie cititorilor cum arată fratele ei: August are ochii cu vreo doi centimetri mai jos decât ar trebui, nu are nici gene, nici sprâncene, nasul lui este mare şi cârnos, capul e scobit pe laterale, dinţii de sus sunt mici şi depărtaţi unul de altul, iar bărbia lui este minusculă. Via îşi iubeşte fratele indiferent cum e şi de multe ori îşi face griji pentru el: „Oare August îşi dă seama cum îl văd ceilalţi sau a învăţat să se prefacă at

(Editura Humanitas, Bucureşti, 2013) În Oraşul Florilor, toţi prichindeii sunt botezaţi în funcţie de talentele şi însuşirile lor: Gogoaşă, Ştietot, Telescop, Şurubel, Piuliţă, Lentilă, Cubuleţ, Acuarelă, Pilulă etc. După cum v-aţi dat seama, Habarnam este un băieţel care nu ştie absolut nimic! Dacă aţi citit deja „Aventurile lui Habarnam şi ale prietenilor săi” şi „Habarnam în Oraşul Soarelui”, atunci este timpul pentru „Habarnam pe Lună”! La începutul poveştii, încă nu-l găsim pe Habarnam. Sub lumina reflectoarelor se află Ştietot, un mic savant. El este prieten cu Cerceluşa şi Scrumbiuţa, alte două savante. Într-o zi, cei trei au mers pe Lună. Acolo au cercetat suprafaţa Lunii şi craterele sale. Mulţi oameni de ştiinţă se tot întreabă cum s-au format craterele de pe Lună. Se formează două tabere, fiecare având câte o teorie diferită. „Craterele lunare au apărut din vulcani.”, spun unii. „Craterele lunare sunt urme ale căderii unor meteoriţi uriaşi.”, zic alţii. “Sterling and the Canary”... You might think it’s not an interesting title, but you’re wrong! I liked this story very much! I guarantee you will like it, too! Sterling Thaxton is the main character of the story. He’s the best-looking boy in his school. He’s tall and strong. He’s amazing at sports. If you want to be a champion at the Olympic games one day, then you will have to eat... Greek food! Why? Everyone knows that New York is also called the Big Apple. But for Timothy Malt, the main character of the story, New York is sausage city. Why? That’s a good question and you will soon find out the answer... Timothy (or Tim, for short) is from London, England. He goes to New York for a short holiday: “In the afternoon, a Boeing 747 had eased out of the blue sky and roared along the Atlantic coast of the USA. It flew down the length of Long Island, landed at JFK and disgorged two hundred and twenty-one passengers. (...) But we are not interested in any of them. (...) We are only interested in six of the passengers on that 747. Two adults, three children and one dog. Their names were Mr. Malt, Mrs. Malt, Timothy Malt, Max Raffifi, Natascha Raffifi and Grk.” (page 8) Tim thinks that this holiday will be an ordinary one. But he’s wrong... London Eye is like a giant bicycle wheel in the sky. At least that’s what Ted thinks... For other people London Eye is just the largest observation wheel ever built with thirty-two capsules. Cu dedicatie pentru prietena mea, Smaranda, viitoare campioana la Wimbledon Inainte de a incepe sa cititi aceasta postare, trebuie sa stiti un lucru: imi place foarte mult tenisul! Intotdeauna urmaresc la televizor cele patru turnee importante de tenis: Australian Open, Roland Garros, US Open si Wimbledon. Dupa cum v-ati dat seama, Australian Open are loc in Australia, iar US Open in Statele Unite ale Americii. Roland Garros este la Paris, iar Wimbledon... la Londra! Aflandu-ma la Londra, eu cu mama, tata si Miri ne-am dus intr-o zi la Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. :) In muzeu erau multe lucruri interesante. Intr-o incapere se aflau ecrane unde puteai sa urmaresti diverse momente importante din anumite turnee. In muzeul Wimbledon am avut ocazia sa vad costumele pe care le purtau femeile si barbatii cand jucau tenis pe vremuri. Femeile purtau rochii lungi! Am vazut si prima racheta de tenis, care era facuta din lemn! In alta incapere am vazut niste copii ale trofeului si

Waterstones este cea mai cunoscuta retea de librarii din Marea Britanie si chiar din intreaga lume! La Londra, am intrat in mai multe librarii Waterstones de unde mi-am luat mai multe carti. Dintre toate cartile pe care le-am cumparat, cel mai mult mi-a placut “The London Eye Mystery”. Este o poveste interesanta, care te tine in suspans in fiecare capitol! In curand am sa-i scriu un book review. :) In orice librarie Waterstones este liniste ca intr-o biblioteca si sunt multe locuri unde poti sa stai ca sa rasfoiesti o carte... Peste tot gasesti o multime de carti interesante, perfecte pentru orice cititor! :)

Gata cu aglomeratia metropolitana din Londra, este timpul sa ne oprim in... The Royal Parks! :) Aceste parcuri apartin familiei regale. Sunt mult mai mari si mai frumoase decat cele obisnuite! De obicei, in parcuri este foarte multa galagie! Insa, in The Royal Parks, totul este linistit! Multi oameni vin aici pentru a se relaxa. Sunt multe modalitati de a-ti petrece timpul in aceste parcuri: poti sa te plimbi si sa admiri peisajul multicolor din jurul tau sau poti sa te relaxezi stand intins pe iarba, la umbra copacilor, si citind o carte! Hyde Park Hyde Park este cel mai mare parc din Londra! Aici, eu si cu Miri ne-am jucat cu minionii nostri din filmul “Despicable Me”. Acestia au avut o mica sedinta pe ramura unui copac. Din nefericire, un minion mov cam bagacios a venit peste ei... De asemenea, minionii au cantat imnul Marii Britanii, tinand in mana steaguri. La un moment dat, insa, minionul mov a revenit. Fiind suparat, a muscat un steag... Regent’s Park In Regent

Notting Hill este un cartier faimos din Londra. Acolo se afla vestita Piata Portobello unde gasesti multe tarabe si magazine din care poti sa cumperi lucruri vechi si noi, de la carti si haine pana la suveniruri. Din Notting Hill mi-am luat o geanta-papuc cu steagul Marii Britanii! :) In Notting Hill totul este viu colorat! Casele si magazinele de acolo sunt frumos decorate. Daca vrei sa scapi un pic de agitatia si aglomeratia din centrul Londrei, Notting Hill este locul perfect pentru a te relaxa! In magazine gasesti atatea lucruri interesante, sunt chiar si cateva restaurante acolo, inclusiv un restaurant de-al lui Jamie Oliver... Dupa o plimbare placuta prin Notting Hill, am mers la The Sherlock Holmes Museum... V-am facut curiosi? :) Am devenit detectiv si am fumat o pipa...
