It was spring. Angelina and Alice, the two best friends, were riding their bikes. They were having a wonderful time! After a while, they stopped in a park. They were having a rest. Suddenly, Angelina said a bit worried: “Hey, Alice, when is Miss Lilly’s birthday?”. Alice was eating some cheesy pops. “Well, I’m not sure...” she said with her mouth full. “I think it’s on the 24th of April.” she continued. “What date is today?” Angelina asked again. “The 3rd of April.” Alice said. Angelina thought for a while. “You know... Miss Lilly’s birthday is in three weeks. I was thinking that we could make a ballet show just for her!” Angelina said. “That’s a good idea! Who will be in the ballet show?” Alice asked. “Well, you and I, of course... Flora, Felicia, Gracie, Viki... and, oh, I can’t believe I’m saying this...” Angelina said. “What?” Alice asked. “Well... In this ballet show we need Priscilla and Penelope, too!” Angelina said in a low voice. “Priscilla and Penelope? Why? They’re rude!” Alice said. “I know, I know... But we really need them... This ballet show is called “The Magic Princess”. I will be the princess, you with Flora, Felicia, Gracie and Viki will be the fairies, Priscilla will be the bad witch and Penelope will be her daughter. Oh, we will also need a prince. William can be... We can use Marco’s instruments for the ballet show’s songs and A.J. can teach us some hip hop steps. We can dance hip hop at the happy ending, even if it’s a ballet show...” Angelina said. “I like your idea, Angelina! When will we start our secret rehearsals for the show?” Alice asked. “I think tomorrow will be good to start practicing for the show... Remember, we mustn’t tell Miss Lilly about our brilliant idea!” Angelina said. “Don’t worry, Angelina. Miss Lilly will not know about the ballet show!” Alice said and winked to her best friend.
The next day, at Miss Lilly’s ballet school, the nine friends were talking with Priscilla and Penelope. “Please, Priscilla and Penelope! We really need you in this ballet show!” Angelina said. “Why should we do that for YOU?” Priscilla asked. “This ballet show isn’t for me! It’s for Miss Lilly!” Angelina said. Priscilla and Penelope thought for a moment. “All right, then! We will be in this ballet show. What is it called?” Penelope asked. “The Magic Princess. Do you mind if Priscilla is the bad witch and you’re her daughter?” Angelina asked. “No, we like to be bad!” Priscilla and Penelope giggled. Alice whispered to Angelina’s ear: “Believe me, they will never change...”.
Angelina, Alice, Flora, Felicia, Gracie, Viki and the Pinkpaws twins, Priscilla and Penelope had rehearsals for one week. Mrs. Mouseling, Angelina’s mother, made some ballet costumes for the show. Everything was perfect... until...
The second week, Miss Lilly gave some news to her “darlinks”. “My darlinks, I have some really good news for you!” Miss Lilly said. The mouselings were whispering. “On the 24th of April (that means in two weeks), we will go at The Royal Palace in Mouseland. We will do a ballet show for Queen Seraphina and King Ferdinand’s anniversary! You know what the best part is? You can choose your own ballet show for the queen!” Miss Lilly said excited. But the mouselings weren’t so excited... They couldn’t make the ballet show for Miss Lilly... But Angelina tried to be brave. “Don’t worry, guys! We can sing a “Happy Birthday” song at the end of the show so everyone can know that this is meant for Miss Lilly!” Angelina said. “Are you sure that is a good idea?” Alice asked. “Of course! I’m sure Miss Lilly will LOVE the show!” Angelina said. “Oh, my darlinks, I almost forgot: we have to leave in two days so we can be at The Royal Palace as soon as possible!” Miss Lilly said. “Um, Miss Lilly, is there a problem if we rehearse alone for the ballet show?” Angelina asked. Her whiskers were trembling. “Why, Angelina?” Miss Lilly asked, a bit surprised. “Well, we want to do a surprise for... for everyone!” Angelina said. “All right...” Miss Lilly said, a bit unsure. But Angelina had a relief. Maybe everything was turning out good after all...
Angelina and her friends stayed for a whole day, packing their suitcases... Angelina was waiting for her costume. She wanted a pink costume, but her mom made her a red one... “Mom, I needed a pink costume, not a red one!” Angelina said. “I’m sorry, Angelina! I didn’t have a lot of pink materials for the costume. Don’t worry, you will look beautiful!” Mrs. Mouseling said. But Angelina wasn’t so sure...
The next day, Angelina and her friends went with Miss Lilly by train to the Royal Palace of Mouseland. Priscilla and Penelope asked Angelina about her costume. “How does your costume look like?”. “It’s red, but I wanted to be pink!” Angelina said, a bit upset. Priscilla and Penelope looked at each other and remained silent for a while. They looked like they had a new idea...
When they arrived at The Royal Palace of Mouseland, Angelina, Miss Lilly and the others met the king, the queen... and Princess Sophie, too! Angelina and Sophie hugged. They were really good friends! Miss Lilly said: “Right, my darlinks! You have more than one week to practice for the show! I will let you all by yourself to practice... Like you told me so...”. “Oh, Lilly, dear! Those little mouselings will need some rest! Am I right or wrong? They can take long walks in the gardens of the palace!” Queen Seraphina said. Everyone gave a cheer. Angelina and Sophie looked at each other happily. A new adventure was waiting for them...
Angelina, Alice, Flora, Felicia, Gracie, Viki, William, Priscilla and Penelope practiced for the ballet show. They used Marco’s instruments and they learned some hip hop steps from A.J. In the afternoons, they were having tea in the Royal Ballroom with the king and queen. Angelina was dancing with Princess Sophie in the rose gardens. They were having a wonderful time! The best part was that, Miss Lilly didn’t find out anything about the secret ballet show. “That’s good!” Angelina thought.
Days went by, and the big day came. Angelina and her friends were preparing for the show. They put on their costumes. Angelina was bored. There was lots of time until the beginning of the show, so Angelina went with Sophie in the big garden. They walked and walked (and talked about different stuff) until they found a big, old tower. “Let’s explore it!” Angelina said. “Are you sure, Angelina? The show will start soon...” Princess Sophie said worried. “Don’t worry, it won’t be long!” Angelina said.
The two friends entered the tower. It was really, really old! There were spiderwebs everywhere! It wasn’t so fascinating, so Angelina decided to leave. She went to the door... but she couldn’t open it! “Oh, no! We’re stuck!” Angelina shouted very scared. “What will we do?” Sophie asked. “I don’t know! Oh, it’s all my fault!” Angelina said and started to cry. In the meantime, Priscilla and Penelope were looking for Angelina. The show was about to begin... Priscilla had a box in her hand... Suddenly, the Pinkpaws twins heard some shouts. “Help! HELP!”. “Do you think it’s Angelina?” Penelope asked. “Maybe. Come on, let’s go! The shouts come from that old tower...” Priscilla said. The two girls went straight to the tower. They opened the door... and found Angelina. “Angelina! There you are! The show is about to begin!” Penelope said. “Oh, yes, I’m really sorry. Oh, no! Look at my dress! It’s filthy from all this walk!” Angelina said. “Don’t worry about that... We’ve got a surprise for you!” Priscilla said and gave Angelina the box. Inside the box, there was a pink costume! “I... I... Where did you get it?” Angelina asked very surprised. “From our mom! You know she works in a clothes shop! She gave us the pink costume! We told her that you wanted so...” Priscilla and Penelope said. “Oh, my gosh! I’m... I’m speechless! Thank you SO much! You aren’t so bad after all!” Angelina said and hugged the Pinkpaws twins.
The ballet show was a big success! The mouselings danced wonderful, Marco’s instruments sounded great and the hip hop steps were awesome! At the end, all the mouseling sang “Happy Birthday!” to Miss Lilly. The ballet teacher was so impressed! “My darlinks! This was a present... for me?” she asked. “Yes, Miss Lilly! By the way, all of this was Angelina’s idea!” Alice said. Miss Lilly came on stage and hugged Angelina. Everyone clapped and cheered! “Thank you, my little ballerina!” Miss Lilly said. Tthat moment, Angelina was the happiest mouseling in the whole of Mouseland!
